Ø Today’s trend toward suburban
living accompanied by an increasing reliance upon Private automobiles by both
the working and shopping population is literally saturating the through fares
and parking facilities of Indian cities.
Ø The growth and development of
bus transportation has closely followed advances in automotive technology and
the improvement and expansion of the national highway network.
Ø A bus terminal, or terminus,
is the point where a bus route starts or ends, where vehicles stop, turn or
reverse, and wait before departing on their return journeys.
Ø Their design and location
affect the efficiency of a transport system, and its impact on other road
users.
Ø Generally it has direct or
indirect access to major highways or roads connecting different cities.
NEED FOR

An
increased emphasis on the bus transportation linking all towns of the district
and neighbor districts and major towns of the state and neighbor states via

course , considerable advantages of flexibility and lower cost of facilities
and equipment.
Here
we can predict one bus is equal to 40 cars. So, by encouraging bus
transportation ,it reduces the traffic & pollution in the cities.
AIM
Goals of this project were to provide architectural
surroundings which would both enhance the city values and attractiveness to bus
transportation whereby it might be
helped to increased importance . An increased emphasis on the bus

pollution through out the highways.

SCOPE
The scope of the
study is broad based and the standards of well renowned bus terminal as reference
and also to include waiting lounges, restrooms, food courts etc. The scope
further exceeds to-designing the land scape indoor and outdoor areas of the
terminal.
